Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris – or simply Notre-Dame (Our Lady) – was built in the Middle Ages, started in the 13th century and finished in the 15th century then later rested in the 19th century. A masterpiece of Gothic architecture, the Cathedral at the far end of the Île de la Cité is famous for its stained glass and rose windows, the towers, the steeple, the gargoyles, its treasury and amazing views of Paris.
