Park and National Palace of Pena

The Park and National Palace of Pena, completed in 1854, is an iconic symbol of Sintra. The colourful palace sits atop a rocky outcrop in the Sintra Hills. The pinnacle of Romanticism in Portugal, it’s one of the most splendid castles in the world, home to mythological statues, decorative battlements and hidden pathways as well as a vast forested park spread out over 200 hectares.
