Volcan El Teide – or Mount Teide is a volcano on Tenerife in the Canary Islands. At 3,718m high, it is the highest peak on the Canaries and in the whole of Spain as well as the third highest volcanic structure and most voluminous in the world after Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea in Hawaii. Formation of the volcano began 170,000 years ago and today it is very popular with hikers. There is also a cable car to make life easier.
