Icon of the Seas entertainment: What to expect on biggest Royal Caribbean ship

Icon of the Seas entertainment offerings are set to be as vast as the ship itself when it launches in January 2024. Here’s what you need to know.

Royal Caribbean boasts an entertainment extravaganza aboard the word’s biggest cruise ship, Icon of the Seas.

Icon of the Seas entertainment promises a dynamic showcase of full-scale shows across four signature “stages” – air, ice, water and theatre. Prepare for an unprecedented lineup featuring more live music and comedy than ever before.

Crafted in-house by Royal Caribbean, the world’s largest producer of live entertainment, Icon’s diverse productions will come to life day and night. So what can you expect?

With over 75 world-class performers, the all-new AquaDome and its groundbreaking AquaTheater, the Royal Theater and the Absolute Zero ice arena hosts an array of performances.

Cutting-edge technology, including 3D flying systems and robot arms doubling as diving boards, elevate the entertainment experience.

Beyond the stage, Icon of the Seas ensures a vibrant atmosphere with the musical and comedic talents of 50 live performers resonating throughout the ship.

The entertainment extends to various venues, featuring the new Lou’s Jazz ‘n Blues and Dueling Pianos, as well as unique twists on all-time favourites such as Schooner Bar and the Point & Feather English pub.

Other Icon of the Seas entertainment highlights include “Aqua Action!” in the AquaDome, blending technological and physical feats complete with Olympic-level high divers, skateboarders, aerialists, slackliners and synchronized swimmers coming together with high-tech firsts. Meanwhile “Pirates vs. Mermaids” presents a lighthearted mythical showdown for all ages.

The Royal Theater will feature iconic productions like “The Wizard of Oz” with a modern twist (plus more than 600 costume elements and an original score performed by a new 16-piece orchestra) and “SHOWBAND! Live. Music. Now.,” a must-see event for music lovers.

The Absolute Zero ice arena showcases “Starburst: Elemental Beauty” seeing the Olympic-level ice cast wow with powerful, high-speed choreography that packs more tricks and higher jumps than ever before.

Alternatively, there’s ”Once Upon a Time: The King’s Royal Ball,” tailored for young cruisers and their families.

Elsewhere, Icon of the Seas entertainment comprises a variety of experiences for music lovers, comedy enthusiasts, and everyone in between. With nine hotspots celebrating live music and diverse genres, as well as the Manhattan-inspired Comedy Club for adults, there’s entertainment for all tastes.

The reimagined Royal Promenade will host “SHIPS AHOY!,” a show of skills and wit featuring scalawags, swashbucklers and sailors of all types.

Icon of the Seas combines the best of every holiday, offering a game-changing experience with six record-breaking waterslides, seven pools, themed neighbourhoods and more.
