Sun Princess: What entertainment is onboard new cruise ship?

Sun Princess is the new Princess Cruises ship setting sail this year – we’ve had a look at the entertainment offerings onboard the cruise ship.

Sun Princess is Princess Cruises’ largest-ever ship and is set to debut in early 2024.

The extraordinary vessel promises a dazzling array of entertainment, featuring iconic performances and world-class experiences that will captivate guests throughout their journey. Let’s find out more….

Sun Princess entertainment

The Princess Arena takes centre stage as the epitome of technological innovation in cruise ship entertainment. This versatile venue, configurable for shows in the round, with a 270-degree keyhole configuration and a traditional proscenium theatre, ensures a truly unique and awe-inspiring experience.

The venue, equipped with state-of-the-art stages, captivating lighting design, and immersive surround sound, guarantees show-stopping spectacles on every voyage.

Headlining the Sun Princess entertainment lineup are three new productions, showcasing the exceptional talents of the Sun Princess troupe. These include “Vallora, A Pirate Quest,” an adventurous pirate story, “Stage Struck,” a celebration of musical theatre, and “Viva La Música,” a scintillating Latin musical experience.

The beloved favourite, “Fiera!,” is reimagined at a colourful European fairground, bringing love to life through a medley of popular songs.

Sun Princess entertainment extends beyond the Princess Arena to two additional venues — the Piazza and The Dome. The Dome, inspired by Santorini’s terraces, features captivating shows from the renowned Cirque Éloize, while the Piazza serves as the ship’s heartbeat, offering expansive views and a variety of entertainment.

The Dome transforms from an indoor/outdoor oasis during the day to an electrifying entertainment venue with a South Beach vibe at night.

The Piazza, surrounded by a multi-tiered sphere of glass, hosts musical acts, game shows, and the ever-popular Champagne Waterfall event.

Here you’ll also find the largest casino in the Princess Cruises fleet – its prime location providing holidaymakers with convenient access to their preferred betting games.

The roomy floor plan prioritises guest comfort and entertainment. Featuring over 200 of the latest and most sought-after slots and video poker games, there’s a diverse selection to cater to every preference.

Sun Princess guests can also enjoy new experiences, including a Sailaway Party, night-time Welcome Show, Themed Deck Party, Game Shows and a memorable Farewell Show and Light Spectacle.

For a magical experience, “Spellbound by Magic Castle” [below] offers a collaboration with a famed Hollywood icon, blending magic, mixology and incredible feats of magic. Read all about it here.

Elsewhere, Sun Princess’ shops encompass five retail spots and an art gallery. The modern and elegant boutiques seamlessly connect, offering interactive experiences.

Guests can navigate effortlessly between spaces, discovering a range of offerings, including Princess logo merchandise, a lifestyle boutique, a novel bazaar with destination-specific selections, as well as collections of jewellery, watches, cosmetics, fragrances, and a contemporary art gallery.

Additional spaces with new designs, signage and décor will include Crooner’s, Wheelhouse Bar, International Cafe, Good Spirits and Gelateria.

Debuting in February 2024, Sun Princess not only promises exceptional entertainment but also exciting culinary offerings and luxurious accommodations.

With the most balconies and sun decks on any Princess ship, guests can bask in the sunshine and crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean and Caribbean from the comfort of their staterooms.

Inaugural 2024 Sun Princess cruises to the Mediterranean and Caribbean are now on sale.
