Ambassador Caribbean cruise holidays are sailing into season come winter 2025 in an exciting move for the British cruise line and its over-50s passengers. Here’s why taking a fly cruise with Ambassador is the smartest move for your holiday funds.
Ambassador Cruise Line is making its Caribbean debut in winter 2025. In a major first, the line – which previously has two ships Ambition and Ambience – will launch a series of fly-cruises from Barbados aboard the 1,100-guest vessel Renaissance as it continues to target the 50+ market.
Ambassador Caribbean cruise itineraries will visit such hotspots as Curaçao, Martinique and Antigua among many others. Most sailings will be 14 nights, with return flights from the UK, while extended voyages of up to 45 nights will depart roundtrip from the line’s UK homeport of London Tilbury. The value for money is impressive, too – you could end up paying as little as £80 a night for a tropical getaway!
So, should you get onboard for sun, sea, sand and sailing with Ambassador? Let’s find out.

Ambassador has previously been known for its no-fly cruises to popular destinations like the Norwegian Fjords, Mediterranean and Canary Islands, to name a few. However with its transatlantic expansion Ambassador is now launching a series of fly-cruises eastwards.
All Ambassador fly-cruises to the Caribbean include direct Virgin flights from London Heathrow or Manchester to Barbados, with four cabin classes to choose from – including Upper Class if you fancy stretching out in style, or Economy standard if you want to save the pennies. There’s no faffing at immigration either – just hop on a coach straight to the cruise ship while your luggage is delivered to your room. Easy.
Meanwhile, Ambassador’s repositioning cruise in the autumn (see below) sees passengers board Renaissance in London Tilbury, cross the Atlantic in comfort and explore the Caribbean before returning to the UK by plane. Come the spring, guests on the “repo” cruise will fly out to the Caribbean and then sail back to the UK without needing to board a flight home.
It’s all part of the new Ambassador fly cruise Caribbean offering, designed to make long-haul cruising simpler and better value than ever.
Ambassador’s Caribbean fly-cruise programme spans a wide range of islands across the Lesser Antilles and southern Caribbean. Most sailings depart round-trip from Bridgetown, Barbados, a key southern hub known for its British colonial charm and buzzy local culture.
Popular eastern Caribbean ports include Castries in St. Lucia, where rainforest-clad hills meet the iconic Pitons, and St. John’s in Antigua, home to 365 beaches and the historic Nelson’s Dockyard. Further north, stops in Basseterre (St. Kitts), Philipsburg (St. Maarten), and Road Town (Tortola, BVI) showcase everything from volcanic peaks to colourful colonial towns and calm snorkelling coves.
Ambassador also explores the French Caribbean, calling at Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe and Fort-de-France in Martinique, where guests can expect lively markets, tropical gardens and Creole cuisine.
In the Dutch Caribbean, itineraries include Oranjestad (Aruba), Kralendijk (Bonaire) and Willemstad (Curaçao), offering a cocktail of pastel-painted buildings, white-sand beaches and world-class diving. More off-the-beaten-path stops include Roseau in Dominica, with its lush interior and natural hot springs, and Scarborough in Tobago, one of the Caribbean’s quieter gems.
With prices starting from just £106 per night including flights, Ambassador’s Caribbean cruises offer some of the best-value winter sun holidays around. Even peak-season sailings over Christmas and New Year work out at £178 per night, while the spring 2026 repo cruise back to the UK starts from just £80 per night.
For a fly cruise with flights, food, entertainment and tropical island-hopping all bundled in, that’s a seriously affordable way to explore the Caribbean.

Renaissance is Ambassador Cruise Line’s newest addition and the first to operate its Caribbean fly-cruise programme. It offers a relaxed, grown-up experience on a mid-size ship carrying just over 1,100 guests.
Fully refurbished in 2023, it’s stylish without the flash – think panoramic lounges, a retractable-roof pool deck, elegant dining rooms and a theatre hosting everything from live bands to murder mystery nights. With a 2:1 crew-to-guest ratio, the service is friendly and personal, and thanks to the ship’s sociable size, you’re likely to bump into familiar faces throughout your holiday.
Ambassador does things differently – no water slides or gimmicks, just good food (included as standard), smooth service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
The vibe is refreshingly no-fuss, with easy-to-navigate spaces and quick disembarkation. Renaissance also sails to places the big ships can’t, thanks to its smaller size – so expect a mix of classic ports and off-the-beaten-path gems.
Renaissance meets IMO Tier III emissions standards, thanks to eco-upgrades in 2025. With one of the highest Net Promoter Scores in the industry and 25 awards in just four years, Ambassador is proving that small ships can still deliver big on value and charm.
Onboard currency is GBP on Ambassador cruise to the Caribbean – just like on Renaissance’s sister ships – making travel super easy for the line’s British audience (although remember you’ll need to think about the destinations you’ll visit too when planning your holiday spend!).
