Royal Caribbean has unveiled Perfect Day Mexico – a record-breaking new private island resort – along with three more beach escapes.
If you thought Royal Caribbean had already peaked with Perfect Day at CocoCay, think again. The cruise line has just pulled back the curtain on its next headline-grabbing private island destination – Royal Caribbean Perfect Day Mexico – and it’s bigger, bolder and wetter than ever. This is what we know so far.
Opening in autumn 2027, Perfect Day Mexico will bring the brand’s signature cocktail of thrills and chill to the Caribbean coast of Mexico, delivering record-breaking slides, pools the size of football fields, and enough floating bars to keep even the most relaxed cruiser hydrated.
The 200-acre island-style resort will become the second in Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day collection and form the centrepiece of its new Ultimate Destination line-up. It promises more than 30 waterslides, over 10 enormous pools, the world’s longest lazy river and the tallest waterslide tower in both North and South America – all designed to keep holidaymakers entertained from sunrise to sunset.
This new Royal Caribbean private island will be available on itineraries from Florida, Galveston and New Orleans, with sailings opening for bookings in autumn 2025.
With the addition of Perfect Day Mexico, Royal Caribbean aims to offer a Perfect Day experience to 90 percent of its Caribbean guests by 2027.
And once you get there, the new Royal Caribbean Ultimate Destination has been designed with every type of cruiser in mind, from adrenaline junkies to beach lovers. The resort is split into seven themed neighbourhoods, each offering a different vibe – whether you’re looking to plunge down vertical slides, sip cocktails in a toes-in-the-sand bar or relax in a private cabana.
Loco Waterpark is the heart of the action. Spread across five towering slide complexes, it’s home to more than 30 slides, including Jaguar’s Peak – a slide tower over 170 feet tall. The record-breaking structure features duelling body slides, the longest waterslide coaster in the world and the tallest family raft slide, which can carry up to six riders at once. There are also hydrolaunch slides that shoot guests into the air and a sombrero-shaped slide inspired by Mexican culture.
For those after something a little more laid-back, Splash Cove delivers. Home to the world’s longest lazy river – complete with rapids, wave sections and a wild ‘crazy’ zone – guests can float for up to an hour with drinks in hand, thanks to float-up bars and cupholders in every tube. The centrepiece is a 100,000-square-foot lagoon-style pool, one of over 10 pools spread across the island.
Little ones aren’t left out either. Royal Caribbean’s biggest ever Splashaway Bay features waterslides, fountains and climbing structures designed for younger children, all close to the convenient Splashaway Cabanas.
For guests 18 and over, El Hideaway is a dedicated adults-only retreat. It features a large zero-entry pool, a swim-up bar and a live DJ to keep the party going. Guests can book luxury cabanas or push the boat out with the new Ultimate Party Cabana, complete with a private pool and bar for up to 20 guests.
Travellers wanting an elevated beach day can head to Costa Beach Club. This premium zone offers a heated infinity pool, white-sand beaches, high-end dining and secluded cabanas with private attendants. For those who prefer to keep things simple, Chill Beach stretches for two miles and offers complimentary loungers, umbrellas and towels across both the north and south sides of the island.
Guests arriving at Royal Caribbean island, Perfect Day Mexico, will be welcomed at Fiesta Plaza – a lively, Mexican-themed square filled with music, dancing and local flavour. From the towering sombrero-topped Tipsy Sombrero bar to mariachi bands and souvenir shopping, it’s the perfect place to soak up the atmosphere. There are 12 eateries across the destination serving Mexican and international food – most included in the cruise fare – along with 24 bars, including six swim-up options.
Perfect Day Mexico is just the beginning of Royal Caribbean’s expansion ashore. The cruise line has confirmed three extra Ultimate Destinations coming soon, offering more ways to extend the cruise experience on land.
Set to open in 2026, Royal Caribbean Royal Beach Club Cozumel will showcase Mexico’s energetic spirit with a beachfront experience packed with local flavour. Expect white sands, cabanas, snorkelling, kayaking, street food markets and hands-on activities like tequila tastings and cooking classes.
Launching in December 2025, Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in The Bahamas will be Royal Caribbean’s first-ever beach club. Located in Nassau, it will offer all-inclusive access to food, drinks and activities, including The Floating Flamingo – the world’s largest swim-up bar – plus Bahamian art, live music and three local dining venues.
In early 2027, Royal Caribbean will open its first exclusive destination in the Southern Hemisphere. Located on the island of Lelepa in Vanuatu, the destination will feature postcard-perfect beaches, nature trails and authentic cultural experiences for cruisers from Australia and the wider region.
