Marella Cruises launches new Mediterranean excursions including Athens food tour & Sardinia tuk-tuk ride

Marella Cruises has unveiled new Mediterranean excursions for 2026 including food tours in Athens, Sardinia tuk-tuk rides and Amalfi Coast trips.

Marella Cruises has unveiled nine new Mediterranean shore excursions for summer 2026, including a Greek food tour through Athens, a tuk-tuk sightseeing trip in Sardinia and a scenic Amalfi Coast experience visiting Pompeii, Ravello and Amalfi.

The new experiences will launch aboard Marella Discovery 2, which is sailing from Palma this summer, and are designed to offer passengers more immersive ways to explore destinations across Greece and Italy.

Chris Hackney, CEO at Marella Cruises, said: “We’re always looking for new ways to help our customers experience destinations more meaningfully. By expanding our Mediterranean excursion programme, we’re offering even more opportunities to explore iconic locations across Greece and Italy through unique, immersive experiences – from discovering Athens through its flavours to taking in Sardinia by tuk tuk.

“With Marella Discovery 2’s sailings from Palma this summer, these new excursions are designed to give customers greater choice and unforgettable moments ashore, all while enjoying the ease and value of our all-inclusive fly-cruise holidays.”

New Athens and Amalfi Coast tours

One of the new additions is “A Taste of Athens”, a walking and tasting tour exploring the Greek capital’s historic Plaka district. Guests will sample local dishes including Greek pies, loukoumades, loukoumi and souvlaki while also enjoying a panoramic city drive and free time in Athens. Prices start from £64 per adult and £34 per child.

Meanwhile, the new “Pompeii, Ravello & Amalfi – Scenic Minivan Tour” combines three of southern Italy’s best-known destinations in one excursion. Guests will visit the ancient ruins of Pompeii before travelling on to Ravello and Amalfi along the Amalfi Coast. Prices start from £144 per adult and £104 per child.

Cruisers visiting Athens can also book the new “Athens & Acropolis – Small Groups by Minibus” excursion, which includes guided visits to landmarks such as the Parthenon and Temple of Athena Nike.

Sardinia tuk-tuks and Kefalonia experiences

In Sardinia, guests can now explore Olbia by tuk-tuk on a new sightseeing excursion passing landmarks including the Basilica of San Simplicio and Church of San Paolo.

Other new Sardinia experiences include a 4×4 off-road adventure with local food tastings and a tour of the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park.

The expansion also includes two new excursions in Kefalonia. “Assos Charm & Sami Flavour” takes guests through the island’s villages with an ouzo and meze tasting included, while “Legends & Landscapes of Kefalonia” visits the Odysseus Theme Park, Agia Efimia and viewpoints overlooking Myrtos Beach.

The new excursions are available to book onboard or through Cruise Control ahead of departure.
