Robots, waterparks & circus acts: Let MSC Cruises entertain you

From racing in Formula 1 simulators to walking 60 metres above sea level on a suspension bridge and catching a West-End style or original show, there’s plenty of entertainment to keep everyone happy onboard MSC Cruises ships.

“Happiness is a way of travel, not a destination,” is the oft-quoted phrase by New York senator Roy M Goodman. Maybe he’d been on a cruise or two – and if he, like the rest of us, was in the pursuit of happiness game he couldn’t have done much better than taking a voyage with MSC Cruises.

Known for being incredibly family-friendly, and the Mediterranean experts, MSC Cruises offers a high-octane programme of entertainment that will put a smile on every kid’s face.

We’re talking racing in two F1 simulators, a full-size bowling alley, 4D cinemas, splashing around in an aqua park, rushing down a waterslide and even taking a skywalk across the *Himalayan suspension bridge 60 metres above sea level.

From babies to 17-year-olds, there are five tailor-made kids’ clubs to cater for every age. With a packed programme of activities, games, competitions, and even parties, children of all ages will enjoy making new friends while embarking on adventures at sea.

There’s even an entire day of LEGO activities on board with the exclusive LEGO Experience on board where kids can build and create anything – the only limitation is their imagination. And because it’s a family activity, everyone can join in the fun.

Family Entertainment

In fact, the entire MSC fleet of ships (that will soon be 22 sailing to more than 190 destinations worldwide) has been designed to keep everyone on board happy with a range of entertainment. Families can play, dine, and spend the best of times together and enjoy incredible experiences apart.

That means the kids can make friends while trying out exciting new adventures and activities, while mum and dad relax by one of the many pools, get pampered in the MSC Aurea Spa or enjoy a cocktail (or two) served to them by Rob, the world’s first humanoid robotic bartender.

Fun for all the family

As well as special family excursions ashore and plenty of restaurants on the ship where you can dine together, the award-winning kids’ clubs, and cabins large enough for everyone to enjoy their home-away-from-home, MSC Cruises has created a whole entertainment programme to ensure kids of all ages never get bored on board.

Everyone can have fun in the sun on deck, pools, splashing around in the Aqua Park and laughing together as they race down the swirling waterslide. For those with a head for heights, they can take an 80m skywalk on the Himalayan Bridge – just don’t look down.

For more high-wire adventure nothing beats the adrenalin rush of rushing down a zip-line soaring over the top deck. Race each other in a full-size Formula 1 simulator, or get lost in the world of virtual reality in the fully immersive VR experience, and interactive 4D cinema.

There’s a video games room, sports tournaments, quizzes and even a special Doremi family disco, to make the most of your precious time together.

Are you not entertained?

For when the little ones are in the kids’ clubs, having their own mini-adventures, there are plenty of spaces on the ship for parents to unwind, relax or indulge in their own style of fun.

With five pools on board MSC Euribia, debuting in 2023, including one of the biggest waterparks at sea, and a main pool that’s a staggering 1,700m2, they’ll be able to make a splash every day. After taking a dip, soaking up the sun, why not head to one of the five outdoor bars for a coffee, vino or ice-cold beer?

Out of this world entertainment

Or why not head to the futuristic MSC Starship Club on MSC Virtuosa for cosmic cocktail served by Rob, the first humanoid robotic bartender. Offering portholes with views out to space, and new galactic destinations to explore while you sip your inter-stella drink, the experience is guaranteed to be out of this world!

By now it must be show time!

The Carousel Productions at Sea are the latest addition to a spectacular line up that offers entertainment around-the-clock on MSC Virtuosa, MSC Grandiosa, MSC Bellissima, and MSC Meraviglia.

Combining acrobatics, dance and music to create multi-sensory shows in The Carousel Lounge, the lucky 400 guests will enjoy an unforgettable high-tech and awe-inspiring experience.

From STRINGS – a high-flying circus adventure featuring a live soundtrack on MSC Grandiosa, to SWEET, which transports guests to a real-life candy land on MSC Bellissima and MSC Grandiosa, and AJEDREZ, a rock operatic spectacular, telling the story of two Chess Queens falling for the same King, on MSC Virtuosa, these 40-minute displays of acrobatic, musical and dance skills are sure to entertain.

ARKYMEA, on MSC Virtuosa, follows a scientist breaking through the dimensions to reach Arkymea, a mysterious place where magic comes to life all around you. It’s an emotional journey you’ll see on MSC Bellissima where MYüT ventures out to regain his voice, making new friends with special gifts and abilities along the way.

For a truly magical show, grab the chance to watch HOUSE OF HOUDINI on MSC Meraviglia from May 2022, which celebrates the incredible illusions by the world’s greatest magician and escape artist Harry Houdini.

Get ready to rock on MSC Meraviglia when talented acrobats, circus acts, singers, dancers and musicians fly, spin and leap to the greatest rock soundtrack, featuring AC/DC, Guns & Roses and more, in ROCK CIRCUS.

All seven shows can be booked in advance for €18 and include a signature alcoholic or alcohol-free cocktail to compliment the show theme. Afterwards, adults can pretend to be high-rollers at the roulette wheel for a glamorous evening in the casino, or sip something cold – or bubbly! – under the stars as your floating hotel transports you to your next destination.

If you cruise from Southampton on an MSC no-fly cruise there are no busy airports to deal with, or flights trying to keep the kids happy. Simply step on board MSC Virtuosa, MSC Cruises’ gleaming award-winning ship, which was christened in Dubai by actress Sofia Loren last November, and head from Southampton to the sparkling Norwegian Fjords, the hot spots of the Mediterranean or to the Canaries for the ultimate family cruise to remember.

* Available on MSC Grandiosa, MSC Bellissima and MSC Meraviglia only.
