Marella Cruises launches new gastropub across entire fleet

Marella Cruises launches Piccadilly’s, a British gastropub restaurant available fleetwide and included in the all-inclusive cruise offering.

Marella Cruises is bringing a taste of Britain to the high seas with the launch of Piccadilly’s, a brand-new gastropub dining experience set to roll out across all its ships from June 2025. The relaxed new restaurant will be included in the all-inclusive offering, giving guests even more variety and value while onboard.

This marks the third new dining concept Marella has introduced across its fleet, following guest favourites Kora La and Surf & Turf [below]. Designed as a relaxed and sociable space, Piccadilly’s offers a modern take on classic British pub food with a rotating menu full of hearty, comforting dishes that reflect the UK’s dynamic gastropub scene.

What to expect from Marella Cruises’ Piccadilly’s gastropub

Available nightly from 6pm to 9pm, the 250-seat walk-in venue will be open to all guests as part of Marella’s all-inclusive dining. With a menu that reimagines traditional favourites, Piccadilly’s delivers a “home from home” feel, while reflecting the elevated quality now associated with British pub dining.

The days when pub fare meant little more than chicken in a basket are long gone. Today, the UK’s culinary reputation is defined by a vibrant gastropub scene, where Michelin-starred chefs are just as likely to be found in a country local as in a city pub. Piccadilly’s reimagines traditional favourites with a modern twist — delivering the kind of elevated gastropub menu that celebrates the best of British cuisine.

Marella Cruises gastropub starters and sharing plates

Guests can kick things off with comforting British starters such as Chips & Gravy, Smoked Salmon Roulade, Devilled Chicken Livers on Toast, Leek and Potato Soup, Mushroom Soup and a Smoked Haddock & Leek Pasty.

Among the most creative dishes is the standout starter ‘Chicken or the Egg’ — a combo of smoked chicken terrine, crispy soft hen eggs and piccalilli, combining rich textures with sharp, tangy flavour.

Designed for sociable dining, Piccadilly’s also features a range of sharing plates. The ‘Great British Burgers’ board includes beef, Yorkshire pudding, pork, chips and coleslaw, while ‘The Arthur Duke Pasty Duo’ [main image] serves up pork, apple and apricot wellington alongside pulled beef and mushroom puff pastry, complete with vegetables.

Marella Cruises gastropub main courses

The mains menu is packed with British pub favourites done the Marella Cruises way. Guests can opt for the Angus Beef and Yorkshire Pudding roast dinner, a traditional Roast Chicken Dinner, or classics like Steak and Ale Pie [below] and Sole Kyiv.

Vegetarians and vegans are well catered for with dishes such as the Vegan Steak and Chips and the ‘Curry Mile’ — a spiced vegetable shortcrust pie served with creamy dal makhani. Meanwhile, fish and chip fans will love ‘The Chippy’, featuring beer-battered whiting, steak cut chips, pea fritter and pickled wally.

Marella Cruises gastropub desserts

For dessert, Piccadilly’s offers an indulgent lineup of sweet treats with a distinctly British flavour. Guests can try the Orange Jaffa Cake, which pairs orange jelly with 70 percent dark chocolate and candied orange, or the rich Chocolate Bourbon ice cream sandwich.

Other dessert choices include Warm Apple Fritters, the Queen of Puddings with torched meringue, the King of Rice Puddings served with meringue and strawberry compote, and a British Cheese Selection. There’s also a Chocolate & Vanilla Choux Bun [below] and a selection of homemade ice creams and sorbets.

Piccadilly’s optional extras

While most of the menu is all-inclusive, guests can upgrade their meals with a small number of premium dishes for a supplement. These include:

Seafood Thermidor Frites (£11.95)

Rack of Lamb (£11.95)

Pan Seared Sirloin Steak (£11.95)

Belgian Chocolate Dome (£4.45) – filled with salted brownie, almond chocolate ganache, orange marmalade, vanilla ice cream and topped with hot caramel sauce

New cruise restaurant concept joins fleet favourites

Luke Saunders, Food and Drink Development Manager at Marella Cruises said: “We are pleased to be launching this latest innovative concept restaurant onboard all of our ships, Piccadilly’s. After a successful trial across a couple of ships, we have seen great appetite for a range of hearty British favourites – from elegant desserts to comforts that taste like home. We can’t wait to see our customers’ reactions to this new restaurant concept.”

With its welcoming atmosphere, inventive menu and signature Marella service, Piccadilly’s looks set to become a new favourite for guests sailing with the TUI ocean cruise line — whether they’re after pub classics, creative sharing plates or a proper pudding after a day exploring ashore.
