With this quick guide, find out all you need to know about the Marella Cruises tipping policy.
Marella Cruises’ tipping policy is nice and simple thanks to its comprehensive ‘all-inclusive’ offering.
As the first British cruise line to become predominantly all-inclusive, it is a great choice for anyone looking for a hassle-free holiday. Forget the head-scratching, wondering if you should or shouldn’t be tipping and how much to give, and instead just…relax!
Here’s how Marella Cruises tips work.
Yes! All Marella cruise ships have an all-inclusive offering, which includes tipping. From the moment you book, gratuities are factored into the price of your holiday so there is no need for additional tips during your sailing.
This means that when you receive a receipt at the end of a meal in a speciality restaurant (outside of the all-inclusive package), there will never be a suggested gratuity at the bottom. Instead, the receipts say: ‘Remember, all tips are included’. It’s as easy as that!
Marella Cruises tips became included in the overall price in 2019, when the cruise line announced every ship in its fleet would be all-inclusive as standard for all guests.
Marella Cruises all-inclusive offering covers tips, so there is never an expectation that any passenger would or should pay a gratuity.
That being said, many cruisers still like to tip crew members on top of this if they have gone that extra mile. One holidaymaker on Cruise Critic commented: “We always tip on top to those that have given exceptional service, but that is a personal choice.”
Another said: “We take bags of sweets and chocolate to give out during the cruise. We’ve never found the crew expect a tip but they are always very grateful when we give one.”
Any gratuity is completely at the discretion of each traveller on a Marella cruise. As a guideline, British cruise line peer Ambassador – who do not include tips in their offering – add a service charge of £7 per person per night, or £6 for cruises over 14 nights. So, if you’re wondering “How much should I tip my cabin steward on a cruise?”, something along the lines of £6/7 multiplied by how many days you’re travelling might be a good starting point.
With some US cruise lines adding a 20 percent service charge to every bar and restaurant tab during a cruise, it’s no wonder that the Marella Cruises tips policy is so popular.
All-inclusive Marella Cruise prices depend on when, where and how long you’re looking to travel. For instance, the seven-night Mediterranean Medley itinerary is available from £701 per person during this summer 2024.
Alternatively, if a spot of winter sun is needed later on in the year then the 14-night Atlantic Odyssey sailing – calling on Antigua and the Dominican Republic – is sure to deliver, and comes in at a reasonable £1,515 per person.
Marella Cruises 2025 all-inclusive offering continues to dazzle with a number of exciting Aegean and Mediterranean itineraries, all setting sail from the new home port of Limassoll, Cyprus.
There is so much included with Marella Cruises. So, to make it as easy as possible, we’ve broken down the following lists so you will always know exactly what is and isn’t included for your next cruise holiday with TUI.

Hello 👋 I am the newest addition to the Sailawaze writing team. I've always loved travel since as far back as I can remember and am lucky enough to have travelled to some pretty extraordinary places! As a massive animal lover, I think safaris are among my favourite travel memories – there's just nothing like being up close to a beautiful creature like a leopard or elephant! Cruising opens up so many doors when it comes to exploring destinations, as you can visit numerous places in one go, and reach areas you wouldn't be able to by plane or train! I would really like to take a Mediterranean cruise around the little Greek islands and get stuck in with all of the cuisine and culture there.
