Eighty two percent of people say their top memories are made while travelling. What if you could have these memories captured by a celebrity? Here’s how.
Eighty two percent of people say their top memories are made while travelling. What if you could have these memories captured by a celebrity? Here’s how.
Comedian-turned-artist Jim Moir (aka Vic Reeves), best-selling author and comedian Jenny Eclair, and celebrity photographer Scarlet Page, are clubbing together and taking to the seas in a new initiative that promises to capture guests’ most memorable cruise moments.
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has recruited the famous gang, or ‘The Moments Crew”, following research that revealed 82 percent of people say their life’s best memories are made while travelling. Moir, Eclair and Page will be on hand to capture guests’ big and small special moments – from whale spotting to meeting new friends – across a collection of Fred. Olsen cruises in 2025.
Between the trio’s talents, guests will be able to look back on their holiday through photographs, paintings or writing, depending on which cruise they choose.
Jim Moire, formally of the hit comedy duo Reeves & Mortimer with Bob Mortimer, will act as the artist-in-residence while onboard a Norwegian Fjord Cruise.
He commented: “Some of my happiest memories are from travelling, so I am looking forward to stepping onboard with my easel and paints and capturing guests’ favourite views for prosperity.”
Talking of the destination, he added: “Personally, I hope to see some spectacular scenery, dramatic waterfalls and interesting birds like auks, darters and maybe even some puffins, which are always a delight to paint.”
Comedian, actress and writer Jenny Eclair will be joining a Baltic cruise, stopping at fairytale castles and magical old towns, while catching cherished guests’ moments on paper.
She shared: “There is a rich literary history of travel writing, but my intention is to get the everyday holiday maker interested in keeping their own journals, even if it is just a record of what you had for dinner.
In years to come, photos will take you back to places you loved, but it is often words on a page that will remind you of how those places felt.”
If the Scarlet Page is not ringing many bells, the people she’s photographed certainly will. The likes of David Bowie, Amy Winehouse and Oasis have all posed behind her lens. In other words, she’s music photography royalty.
Page will join an itinerary filled with volcanic vistas and rugged landscapes, sailing around the Azores and Madeira. Her take on climbing aboard to take some snaps? “As a photographer of celebrities and rock stars, I have always loved capturing those rare, unguarded moments that reveal true emotion.
“I’m excited to bring this approach to documenting guests, creating images that reflect genuine joy, calm, and the wonder of shared experiences.
“Whether it’s making new connections or marvelling at the beauty of our world, I aim to capture every moment with artistry and authenticity.”
Recent Research of more than 1,000 British over 50s by Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines found that nearly all (95 percent) agreed travelling and exploring the world had given them happy memories that would stay with them for the rest of lives. 87 percent said the act of travelling made them feel physically healthier, while 95 per cent said that time overseas resulted in improved mental stimulation. Nine out of ten (92 percent) of respondents said the act of travel significantly reduced stress and gave them a more positive outlook on life.
Bring on the holidays!
The cruise line’s Marketing Director, Sonia Holman added: “We know that some of life’s best memories are made on the high seas, so what better way to ensure they are caught than by assembling the first-ever crew dedicated to recording these unique moments in unique ways.
“We’re delighted to welcome Jim, Jenny and Scarlet onboard and look forward to seeing, reading and viewing the big and small guest moments they observe.”

Hello 👋 I am the newest addition to the Sailawaze writing team. I've always loved travel since as far back as I can remember and am lucky enough to have travelled to some pretty extraordinary places! As a massive animal lover, I think safaris are among my favourite travel memories – there's just nothing like being up close to a beautiful creature like a leopard or elephant! Cruising opens up so many doors when it comes to exploring destinations, as you can visit numerous places in one go, and reach areas you wouldn't be able to by plane or train! I would really like to take a Mediterranean cruise around the little Greek islands and get stuck in with all of the cuisine and culture there.
