Chocolate cruise anyone? Fulfil your choc fantasies at sea as this cruise line partners with Lindt.
Holland America Line has announced a mouth-watering (literally!) collaboration with Lindt & Sprüngli, the makers of LINDOR truffles and the No. 1 premium chocolate brand in the US.
This partnership is set to elevate the cruising experience, inviting guests to relish special moments onboard… and get their choccy fix!
On Gala Night, once per cruise, holidaymakers’ cabins will be treated to the “Sweet Dreams” turndown service, featuring the irresistibly smooth Lindt LINDOR milk chocolate truffles or Sea Salt milk chocolate truffles.
Elsewhere, you can tuck into Lindt chocolate desserts, including a signature tulip-shaped Lindt chocolate mousse cake. Why tulips? These pretty flowers are an enduring Dutch symbol – Holland America Line was, after all, founded in the Netherlands.
As past cruisers may know, the tulip-shaped Lindt chocolate mousse cake is already available aboard Rotterdam [below, left] on its Dutch Day dinner menu in the Dining Room, but it will be fleetwide as of August 2024.
Also from this summer, Holland America passengers looking to cool off and meet their confectionary cravings will be able to devour a Lindt Sundae – think vanilla ice cream topped with a custom-made Lindt chocolate sauce [below, right]. Oh, and there are Lindt chocolate tulips one night per cruise in the Dining Room on the Dutch Day dinner menu.
That’s not all! In July 2024 – to coincide with World Chocolate Day – Holland America Line will unveil a unique Lindt Flourless Chocolate Cake, created in partnership with Lindt’s Master Chocolatier, Ann Czaja.
The cake will be available on the Dining Room menu for cruises over seven days and will be featured during the indulgent ‘Cake Me Away’ programme, a new onboard dessert extravaganza showcasing more than 22 tasty five-layer cakes in 16 decadent flavours. We’re hoping for Boris Bogtrotter levels of chocolatey deliciousness.
Michael Stendebach, Vice President of Food, Beverage and Rooms Division for Holland America Line, commented on the partnership: “We’re thrilled to align ourselves with Lindt, a globally beloved brand and one of the world’s leading chocolatiers, to launch an initiative that represents our deep connection to Europe and elevates the culinary experience on board. We hope our guests take the opportunity to indulge in all the special moments this partnership offers.”
“Holland America Line’s dedication to extraordinary service mirrors the meticulous craftsmanship behind Lindt chocolate, where the fusion of the finest ingredients creates an unparalleled indulgent experience,” added Melissa Mendoza, Vice President of Marketing at Lindt & Sprüngli (USA).
“The partnership between Holland America Line and Lindt presents a remarkable chance for the Lindt LINDOR brand to connect with travellers passionate about cuisine and attract a new generation of LINDOR fans with unforgettable brand moments.”
