World-renowned chef Michel Roux Jr. will join a series of Cunard cruises in 2026, bringing his two-Michelin-star restaurant, Le Gavroche, to sea. From dates to itineraries, here’s how to get involved.
British cruise line Cunard has revealed that Michel Roux Jr. will be stepping aboard for a third season in 2026, bringing his widely acclaimed restaurant, Le Gavroche, back to the high seas.
The iconic restaurateur and two-Michelin-starred chef, who became a household name since his appearances on Masterchef from 2008 to date, will host four exclusive dining experiences on Cunard’s newest ship, Queen Anne.
Three of the four residencies will take place on Norwegian Fjords voyages across May, August and November 2026, while a further ‘Le Gavroche at Sea’ extravaganza will take place over an Iceland and British Isles sailing in July of the same year.
First launching in 2024, Michel Roux’s Le Gavroche at Sea residencies bring exciting culinary flair to Cunard ships, with guests able to see, taste and learn firsthand about regional cuisine while at sea, from the best in the business.
Over the course of sailings, Michel Roux delivers live cooking demonstrations in the Royal Court Theatre, sharing behind-the-scenes insights into his culinary philosophy, recipes and technique. Not only that, but you can also catch him in the Insight Speaker programme (Cunard’s specialist programme of guest speakers – ranging from artists and musicians to scientists), where guests can have a more personal opportunity to connect with the chef, ask burning questions and even get an exclusively signed book.
Each residency features a five-course tasting menu served in Sir Samuel’s restaurant, crafted by the chef with fresh produce from the surrounding region. Spaces are limited to just 50 diners per evening, making each event feel extra exclusive.
Beyond the dining room, “an enhanced seafood offering” will be available at the ship’s Carinthia Lounge, where exquisite Norwegian seafood will be served every evening, only available during the Michel Roux Cunard voyages.
There are four Michel Roux Cunard cruises to choose from, and, despite the chef’s reputation for haute cuisine – paired with Cunard’s high-end status – prices for a seven-night Le Gavroche At Sea sailing are as little as £799 pp.
Within the series, there are two 7-night sailings that depart round-trip from Southampton, taking in the breathtaking Norwegian Fjords in the months of May and August.
If seven-nights doesn’t sound like quite enough time with Chef Roux, there’s also a 12-night Norwegian Fjord sailing departing in November that extends all the way up to the Arctic Circle’s capital, Tromsø. Also sails roundtrip from Southampton.
Heading west from Norway, a 14-night Iceland adventure will uncover the little-known flavours of this Nordic land, paired with plenty of scenic cruising to admire stunning wildlife and landscapes.
Speaking on his upcoming 2026 season with Cunard, Michel Roux commented: “Bringing Le Gavroche to sea with Cunard has been an absolute joy. The warmth of the guests, the elegance of the ships, and the shared love of fine dining make it something truly unique. I’m delighted to return next year and to once again share the spirit of Le Gavroche in such a spectacular setting. Each residency is a chance to connect, to create, and to celebrate food in a way that’s both refined and relaxed.”

She believes cruising opens up endless opportunities for exploration, allowing travellers to visit multiple destinations in one trip and reach places that aren’t accessible by plane or train. A Mediterranean cruise around the smaller Greek islands, with time to immerse herself in the local cuisine and culture, is high on her wish list.
