Oceania Cruises’ newest ship marks major step – what’s onboard Allura?

Oceania Cruises new ship Allura has celebrated an exciting milestone as it nears completion – this is what you can expect inside.

Oceania Cruises has reached a significant milestone in the construction of its new 1,200-guest ship, Allura.

This landmark event saw Allura floated from dry dock at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, near the historic seaport of Genoa, to the fitting-out berth where work on the ship’s interiors will continue.

These final stages of construction will focus on suites, lounges and restaurants ahead of the ship’s maiden voyage.

When will Oceania Cruises Allura sail?

Allura is scheduled to enter service from Trieste, Italy, on July 18, 2025.

Where will Allura cruise ship go?

Her inaugural six-day cruise will take her to Athens, Greece, with stops in the Eastern Mediterranean, including Rijeka, Croatia; Ravenna, Italy; Dubrovnik, Croatia; and Kotor, Montenegro.

After her summer season in the Mediterranean, Allura will head to Canada and New England for a series of immersive voyages before her premier winter season in the Caribbean, homeporting in Miami. As part of her inaugural offerings, Allura will also undertake a unique four-day roundtrip voyage from New York City in September 2025.

How many Oceania ships are there?

Allura is the eighth vessel for Oceania Cruises and the second 1,200-guest ship in the Allura Class, following her sister ship, Vista, which launched to global acclaim in May 2023.

What’s onboard Oceania Cruises Allura?

Among Allura’s many features, the ship will boast a new onboard crêperie offering freshly made-to-order crêpes, waffles, and decadent ice cream sundaes in the afternoon. A luxurious new library will feature floor-to-ceiling glass walls, oversized chairs and plush residential furnishings, conveniently located near the LYNC Digital Center, the ship’s digital and social hub, as well as the popular Horizons lounge.

The dining experience will be exceptional, with one chef for every 10 guests and 50 percent of the crew dedicated to culinary experiences. Five speciality dining venues, including the new signature restaurants Ember and Aquamar Kitchen, will be available at no extra cost.

The ship will maintain a guest-to-crew ratio of 3:2, with 1,200 guests served by 800 crew members. Guests will enjoy the most spacious standard staterooms at sea, measuring an impressive 291 square feet. A wide range of immersive shore excursions and tours will be available on each sailing, enhancing the overall experience.

Onboard enrichment programs will include art classes at Oceania Cruises’ Artist Loft, guest speakers, and sommelier demonstrations during exclusive wine pairing luncheons. Additionally, the ship will feature an expansive hands-on Culinary Center and Chef’s Studio, where onboard chef instructors will share epicurean secrets.

“The float out is an important moment for all at Oceania Cruises and Fincantieri, as we progress closer to Allura joining our family,” said Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises.

“Now that we have completed her shell, we are excited to get started on her interior. We have lots of exciting enhancements on Allura, our eighth vessel, further elevating our offerings and firmly cementing Oceania Cruises as the only ultra-premium cruise brand.”

The milestone was celebrated as the brand revealed delivery for the second Oceania Cruises ship may be delayed to 2029, despite being contractually scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2028.
