Ever dreamed of being a world champion? Now’s your chance, as MSC Cruises expands its Guinness World Record programme.
If you’ve always had a competitive spirit or secretly regarded yourself as a hidden talent, it’s time to shine and unlock your inner champion. Seeing your name printed in the Guinness Book of World Records has never been easier, thanks to MSC Cruises. Whether it’s putting on the most pairs of socks in 30 seconds (harder than it sounds) or being the fastest to pull 100 meters of rope, MSC Cruises guests are able to gain world-record status in a variety of quirky ways.
Launched across a handful of ships earlier this year to great success, MSC Criuses are now rolling out their Guinness World Records entertainment programme across the entire fleet, including on new ship MSC World America, due to launch in April 2025.
MSC Cruises’ partnership with Guinness World Records gives guests the chance to break official Guinness World Record titles through a variety of activities – testing everything from strength and speed to agility.
While cruising at sea, participate in record-breaking activities during the day before auditioning for the ‘grand evening show’. Here, lucky finalists battle it out and demonstrate their talents in a bid to become the next iconic record holder.
Any new record breakers are verified by a Guinness World Record Official Adjudicator and awarded a Guinness World Record certificate. Going on holiday and casually becoming a world record holder? Sounds like the ultimate excuse for bragging rights to us.
The programme was introduced on two of the cruise line’s ships, MSC Seascape and MSC World Europa, in March last year, and is now available on 12 ships:
Though soon, it will be available across the entire fleet. 30 World records have already been set since the programme’s launch, and the chance to set the next 30 is only getting easier! See you at the auditions.
Find your next MSC Cruise hereHello 👋 I am the newest addition to the Sailawaze writing team. I've always loved travel since as far back as I can remember and am lucky enough to have travelled to some pretty extraordinary places! As a massive animal lover, I think safaris are among my favourite travel memories – there's just nothing like being up close to a beautiful creature like a leopard or elephant! Cruising opens up so many doors when it comes to exploring destinations, as you can visit numerous places in one go, and reach areas you wouldn't be able to by plane or train! I would really like to take a Mediterranean cruise around the little Greek islands and get stuck in with all of the cuisine and culture there.
