Celestyal Cruises reveals new ship for 2024 – Celestyal Discovery

Celestyal Cruises has announced a second new ship Celestyal Discovery which will sail in March 2024 as the brand undergoes a complete fleet refresh.

Celestyal Cruises, which specialises in exploring the Greek islands and beyond, has confirmed the addition of a second new cruise ship.

Celestyal Discovery joins the recently arrived Celestyal Journey, marking a fleet upgrade and reinforcing Celestyal Cruises’ commitment to enhancing the customer experience through significant investment.

What do we know about Celestyal Discovery?

New cruise ship Celestyal Discovery will dock alongside its counterpart in Athens for extensive multimillion-euro refurbishments this winter, gearing up for the upcoming season starting in March 2024.

Symbolising the company’s ethos of fostering unforgettable moments of exploration by linking people, places, and self, this vessel embodies Celestyal’s bold spirit, thirst for discovery, and wonder.

Is Celestyal Discovery a brand-new ship?

Originally built in 2003 for the Carnival Corporation, cruise ship Celestyal Discovery previously sailed under the AIDA Cruise brand.

As a mid-sized vessel, Celestyal Discovery allows the continuation of Celestyal Cruises’ distinctive blend of renowned destinations and hidden treasures, boasting 633 staterooms, including 62 with balconies, accommodating up to 1,266 guests.

When does booking open for Celestyal Discovery?

This newest addition to Celestyal’s fleet will be available for booking starting December 11, 2023, taking over the 2024 program previously assigned to the Celestyal Olympia.

Exclusive launch offers will be part of the Black Friday promotions coming up and throughout Celestyal’s largest Wave campaign yet, launching by year-end.

What’s onboard Celestyal Discovery?

Celestyal Discovery will feature many beloved elements of the Celestyal Cruises fleet, including an inviting Amphitheatre with versatile conference and event spaces, lively lounges, speciality restaurant Grillseekers, Sozo wellness retreat, a vast pool deck with an exclusive Rays deck, the Greek Deli, and a Fig and Honey gelato and juice bar.

Alongside these familiar offerings, there will be surprise additions to enhance the customer experience during the imminent refurbishment in Greece.

Further details about onboard experiences and itineraries will be disclosed in the coming announcements.

Are Celestyal Olympia cruises cancelled?

Guests with reservations on the Celestyal Olympia will be contacted and rebooked for sailings on the newly refurbished Celestyal Discovery.

Chris Theophilides, CEO of Celestyal, commented: “Given strong market and business conditions, we are thrilled to have expedited the renewal of our fleet to welcome the Celestyal Discovery into the Celestyal family.

“Celestyal Discovery joins the Celestyal Journey to undergo an extensive refurbishment programme over the winter period, signifying further our intent to keep delighting our customers.

“As a confident challenger brand, our team is excited to continue to make waves across the industry next season, with a refreshed fleet, brand, network, and a renewed sense of direction.”
