What can you do on a Marella Caribbean cruise?

Marella Caribbean cruises offer a mix of laid-back island life and culturally rich shore experiences. Depending on your itinerary, you could be wandering the colourful streets of Willemstad in Curaçao one day, and hiking up to Shirley Heights in Antigua the next. Many excursions focus on showcasing the region’s natural beauty – think catamaran trips to hidden coves, visits to botanical gardens in St. Lucia, or snorkelling in Bonaire’s protected marine park.

There’s history too, with tours of colonial forts (major Pirates of the Caribbean territory), sugar plantations and UNESCO-listed towns like Bridgetown in Barbados. Onboard, sea days are filled with live entertainment, sun-drenched pool decks and dining that spans buffet-style favourites to à la carte restaurants. Oh, and free-flowing drinks of every kind, thanks to the all-inclusive nature of Marella!

Which Marella ship goes to the Caribbean?

Marella Cruises currently sails to the Caribbean with three ships: Marella Explorer, Marella Explorer 2, and Marella Voyager. All three vessels operate fly-cruise itineraries departing from Bridgetown, Barbados, during the winter season (November to March). For a longer voyage, join a repositioning cruise at the beginning or end of the season which includes a transatlantic crossing and only one long-haul flight instead of two.

Looking at each of the cruise line’s ships in the Caribbean, Marella Voyager is the newest and largest in the fleet, featuring 10 bars, 17 dining venues, a cinema, multiple pools and whirlpools, making it ideal for families and couples alike.  Marella Explorer 2 (Voyager’s adults‑only sister ship) brings its spa, casino, and calm onboard atmosphere to tropical getaways. As for Marella Explorer, this remodelled ship offers a classic cruise experience for guests of all ages and preferences, packed with facilities including a Champneys spa, several restaurants and bars, a show lounge, and plenty of family-friendly spaces.
