Oceania Cruises reveals huge changes to ship Marina – what’s new?

Oceania Cruises has revealed cruise ship Marina will undergo a makeover next year – what changes can guests expect onboard?

Oceania Cruises, known for its destination-focused voyages and culinary experiences, has announced the upcoming comprehensive refurbishment of its 1,250-passenger vessel, Marina, scheduled for May 2024.

This extensive renovation will introduce three new dining venues onboard Oceania Cruises Marina: Aquamar Kitchen [below], a wellness-oriented dining spot previously launched on Oceania Cruises Vista; an expanded poolside ice cream parlour featuring inventive flavours from Humphry Slocombe; and a new casual outdoor trattoria serving delectable Italian fare, including freshly crafted pizzas.

This refurbishment marks the final upgrade among Oceania Cruises’ existing fleet, boasting eight refreshed or newly constructed ships. The eagerly anticipated eighth vessel, Allura, is slated for a Spring 2025 launch.

Oceania Cruises Marina and its sibling ship Riviera pioneered the concept of food-centric vessels and are now joined by Vista and Allura. These ships were the first to house an onboard cooking school and possess more culinary space and fresh food storage than any other cruise liners.

Oceania Cruises boasts the highest ratio of culinary staff dedicated to enhancing the dining experience, with one chef for every ten guests and half the crew focusing on food preparation and service.

What new restaurants will be on Oceania Cruises Marina?

Aquamar Kitchen

One of the notable culinary enhancements on Marina will be Aquamar Kitchen, an exclusive Oceania Cruises restaurant featuring wellness-inspired menus with a touch of indulgence, appealing to even the most discerning palates.

The breakfast menu will highlight smoothies, cold-pressed juices, and energy bowls, while lunch offerings will include avocado toast variations, globally influenced salads, and wraps. Heartier options such as the Impossible burger, yellowfin tuna tacos, and a crispy chicken sandwich will also be available.

Aquamar Kitchen’s introduction will extend Oceania Cruises’ signature pairing dinners from La Reserve to Privée, Marina’s exclusive private dining venue. This intimate space will host connoisseurs for beloved pairing menus like the Odyssey Menu and the Dom Pérignon Experience.

Waves Grill

In the evening, Waves Grill will transform into an open-air trattoria presenting freshly made pizzas, grilled Italian specialities, tantalising salads and indulgent desserts.

Ice cream parlour

Additionally, an all-day ice cream parlour on the pool deck will entice guests with a variety of flavours, including selections from Humphry Slocombe, along with milkshakes and smoothies.

What changes will be made to Oceania Cruises Marina?

Beyond the dining enhancements, Marina’s private and public spaces will undergo rejuvenation to offer a vibrant new ambience. Upper suites will receive a refreshed look, appearing more spacious and luminous due to clever design features.

The classic steakhouse Polo Grill on Oceania Cruises Marina will be revamped with new carpeting, stylish window treatments, and updated dining chairs.

Penthouse Suites will undergo a complete refurbishment with custom-crafted furniture, expanded guest storage, updated lighting, and sleekly redesigned bathrooms adorned with luxurious Italian marble, offering residential elegance synonymous with Oceania Cruises.

Beloved public spaces onboard Oceania Cruises such as Martinis, Horizons, The Grand Dining Room and Library will receive elegant updates with plush carpets and refreshed upholstery, preserving a sense of grandeur and the comforting feel of a home away from home.

When will Oceania Cruises Marina launch again?

The refreshed Marina is set to debut on May 18, 2024. While the ship’s appearance undergoes significant transformation, one element remains unwavering: Oceania Cruises’ hallmark warm and personalised service.

Guests, whether on their inaugural voyage or returning for the fifteenth time, will appreciate the staff’s attentive care, remembering their names and preferences, and offering genuine warmth and enthusiasm that emanates from the heart.
