Celebrity Cruises is preparing to celebrate Pride Month in June with its fourth annual Pride at Sea celebrations – how is this cruise line breaking the mold?
Celebrity Cruises will launch Pride celebrations on June 4 with a fleetwide party as its cruise ships sail to Italy, France and Spain.
Every vessel will boast headline performances from a range of top artists. For instance, Celebrity Edge will house the flagship Pride at Sea party, with Britain’s Got Talent star Andrew Derbyshire in the spotlight.
Celebrity Cruises’ Pride Month celebrations don’t just stop at partying, however, and a plethora of multi-generational LGBTQ+ focused programming will continue throughout June.
Officers, staff and guests around the world will participate in Celebrity’s Pride parade and signature Pride programming.
Celebrity has form when it comes to celebrating the LGBTQ+ community; it was the first US company to embrace legal same-sex marriages at sea!
In fact, Celebrity Cruises has received a number of LGBTQ+ awards and is a continued sponsor of Miami Beach Gay Pride. Snaps for Celebrity, indeed.
The brand’s welcome-to-all approach was reflected in Celebrity’s All Inclusive Photo Project, unveiled earlier this year.
Top photographers united to establish the world’s first free-to-use open-source image library comprising entirely minority ethnic, disabled, plus-size and LGBTQ+ trailblazers.
The cruise line’s aim was to alter the meaning of “all-inclusive” in the travel industry and make diverse content more easily available.
The project displayed the work of world-renowned Annie Leibovitz and award-winning documentary photographer and triple amputee, Giles Duley.
Other thought-provoking images snapped impressive groundbreakers across different underrepresented groups, from British Paralympian, Amy Conroy, to travelling couple and Black Pride activists Lexie and Aisha.
